Showcasing your app
List a deployed app on monokrew.com — how to opt in, what a listing shows, and how to edit or remove it.
What the showcase is
The showcase is a public gallery on monokrew.com of applications built with Monokrew. Each listing shows a screenshot of your app, its name, a short description and the technologies it uses. Anyone visiting the site can click through and open your app.
Listing is entirely optional. Nothing is published unless you choose it, and you can take it down at any time.
Opting in
There are two moments you can opt in, and they lead to the same place.
While deploying. The deploy flow includes a tick box to show your app on monokrew.com. It is off by default, and deploying never requires it.
Any time afterwards. Open the app under Deployed Apps, go to its details, and opt in there. This is the better route if you would rather see your app running first and decide later.
What you provide
Three things:
- A short description — one sentence on what the app does. This is what a visitor reads before deciding to click.
- The technologies used — the stack tags shown on the card. These are pre-filled from your project, and you can change them.
- Your agreement to the listing terms, shown in full at the point of opting in.
Tip — Write the description for someone who has never heard of your app. "Weekly staff scheduling for a café, with shift swaps" tells a visitor far more than "scheduling tool".
The screenshot
Monokrew captures the screenshot for you, automatically, from your app's public home page as it appears when captured. You do not upload an image.
Warning — The screenshot shows your home page exactly as a visitor would see it. Before you list, make sure that page does not show anyone's personal information, or any identifiable person who has not agreed to appear. Remove or blur anything of that kind first.
Review and approval
Every listing is reviewed by the Monokrew team before it appears. Opting in is not instant publication.
Once approved, your app appears in the showcase on monokrew.com, and visitors can open it from there.
Seeing your listing
Your listing, including the captured screenshot, is visible any time from the app's details under Deployed Apps. You can look at exactly what the public sees without leaving the app.
Changing a listing
From the app's details, choose Edit listing to change the description, the technologies, or the screenshot.
Re-capturing the screenshot is worth doing after a redesign. A screenshot taken at first deploy shows the app as it was then, not as it is now.
Edits are reviewed before the updated listing goes live, in the same way as the original.
Removing a listing
From the app's details, choose Remove from monokrew.com.
Your listing comes off the showcase within minutes and the stored screenshot is deleted. Copies held in caches may remain reachable for up to 24 hours.
Two things are worth knowing before you list:
- Marketing already published is not recalled. With your agreement, a listing may also be used in Monokrew's own marketing — a social post, a blog article. Removing your listing stops any new use, but something already published stays out there.
- Your description and technologies are kept after you remove a listing, along with the review record, so that listing again later keeps its history. They are deleted when the application is deleted.
Monokrew may also remove a listing at its discretion — for instance if the app stops responding, or is no longer suitable for a public gallery.
What it costs
Nothing. Listing, the screenshot and any re-capture are free, and are not metered against your tokens.
Next steps
Your app must be deployed and live before it can be listed. See Deploying and hosting if you have not deployed it yet.
